Netiquette

Netiquette

Definition: a combination of the words network and etiquette and is defined as a set of informal rules for acceptable online behavior and the acceptable use of online resources in an online environment.

Netiquette, or network etiquette, is concerned with the "proper" way to communicate in an online environment. Consider the following "guidelines", whenever you communicate or use information while in The HUB.

Core Guidelines of The HUB Netiquette

Documents uploaded on the HUB

Any documents added to the HUB can be seen by the other HUB members.

When reproducing information found here, it's important to credit the original author.

When adding a document, photo, graphic, etc., please verify if the element is copyrighted. If it is, ensure you have the permission to use it.

If you would like to modify an existing document found on the HUB, please reach out to the original source to ask permission and/or credit the author when using it.

Please don’t post or share inappropriate material. The CRC is not responsible for inappropriate material added to the HUB but will delete any, if reported or found.

You may find documents in only one language and not always both (French & English).

Writing

When posting and/or responding to others, be aware of strong language, all caps and exclamation points. No inappropriate language or derogatory statements will be accepted.

If someone asks a question and you know the answer, offer to help.  In your response, try to be concise, precise and proficient.

Toward Fellow Members

Politeness and respect towards others is a fundamental HUB policy.

The HUB is a professional environment.

Respect the email addresses of the members. Respect others' privacy by not sharing personal information, photos, or videos that another person may not want to see or be published online.

Never spam others by sending large amounts of unsolicited email.

Disrespectful comments, language, etc. won't be tolerated.

The Best Practice to follow if you think something isn’t right or appropriate, is to reach out to the CRC via the Contact Us (hyperlink) page or directly to The HUB email: HUB@crcinfo.ca
